Three Sourcing Routes, One Kernel Standard

Venagro sources popcorn maize through three routes: own and leased farms, contract farming and open-market procurement. The mix matters because a resilient supply system cannot depend on a single field or a single season.

Own and leased farms establish the internal crop reference. They give the company a direct view of how planting, harvest timing and handling decisions affect the final kernel.

Contract farming extends planned popcorn-maize cultivation through partner growers. The programme connects those farms to a defined crop requirement and to the wider Venagro sourcing system.

Open-market procurement adds flexibility when demand or seasonal conditions require additional lots. Procured maize enters the same intake process rather than bypassing the operating standard.

The common point is grading and conditioning. Different sources can enter the system, but each lot still has to be assessed for the application it is intended to serve.

Across Karnataka, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the combined cultivation network now covers 7,000 acres. It is scale built through several routes, not scale dependent on one.
